I am not familiar with the LPR, but GERD is the so-called gastro-oesophageal reflux disease. A 24 hours pH test can be done to assess the problem of their child. A small catheter is placed into one nostril into the esophagus for 24 hours and record the pH on a monitor. Your doctor can arrange this for you. Not all hospitals of the audit, so depending on where you live, you must have done may to a large hospital.

Gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD) may contribute to the child swallowing dysfunction. GERD treatment may improve the swallowing function in distress. The doctors can assess the damage of the esophagus with videofluoroscopy swallowing study (VSS) or FEESST flexible endoscopic evaluation of swallowing and sensation testing ().
Please visit for more information on GERD and Google search and FEESST VSS.
